Confirmation Update as of August 1st, 2020
Hello! We hope you are enjoying this summer, and gearing up for whatever lies ahead at school. Pastor Mark attended a Zoom meeting with Superintendent Schneider describing what may be happening at YME this fall, and we will be mirroring that in many ways. We need to be planning a “program” that involves both in-person, class learning, with the possibility of distance, “at-home” learning, and also a hybrid mix of the two.
While we know you like to get together with one another for fellowship and fun, and want to use this as a base for building your faith, we also know that gathering together may be limited in some ways at certain times, and we want to create new ways for you develop your faith in your home with your families. Above all, Pastor Paul and I want to create opportunities to develop a relationship with you, so that you can develop a deeper faith with Jesus Christ. The method, the “how,” the confirmation “program,” may have to be flexible, but what will remain is our commitment as Pastors to shepherd you.
Look forward to a mailing later in August giving more details of the upcoming year, and a meeting for parents and students sometime before school starts. Meanwhile, enjoy the weather!

Confirmation at Granite Falls Lutheran Church
Our Confirmation program is designed to help parents and students grow in their love for God over a long period of time. It is also hoped that the confirmation years will help each parent and student set a pattern of life-long involvement in their congregation. Therefore, Granite Falls Lutheran Church has developed a variety of opportunities in three time periods: Pre-Confirmation, Confirmation & Post-Confirmation.
We also have a great opportunity to our young people to be involved with those that are younger and older then them through our mentoring and big buddy programs.

CONFIRMATION STUDENTS MAKING AN IMPACT!!!
We may not always see what our Youth are up to these days, but often it is some pretty good stuff. Here’s what our Confirmation Students have going on in this church and in our community:
Can You Find More Things they are doing well?.... Look closely, I bet you can!
- Over a dozen of our older Confirmation Students will be helping with the Mission Possible Backpack Food Program.
- Confirmation Students who are Acolytes, Ushers, Scripture Readers, Video Camera Operators, Video Screen Technicians, and Celebration Service Musicians have all become a weekly part of our worship services.
